Dr. Zhu earned a Ph.D. in Brain Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Hong Kong in 2010. Following graduation, Dr. Zhu served as a postdoctoral researcher and later as a research assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong from 2011 to 2014 and 2015 to 2017, respectively. During this time, Dr. Zhu specialized in non-invasive brain stimulation, neuromodulation, and neuroimaging, contributing significantly to the fields of brain science and psychology. Dr. Zhu has published over 20 articles in international academic journals.
Dr. Zhu furthered his expertise through advanced training at prestigious institutions, including Harvard Medical School, Helsinki's Nexstim, and Berlin's Charité Hospital. These training focused on the fundamental principles of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), electric field neuronavigation, and the clinical applications of TMS in treating conditions such as depression, chronic pain, stroke rehabilitation, dementia, and the preoperative localization of critical brain functions.
Since 2018, Dr. Zhu has been dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge neuroscience research and advanced neurotechnologies to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders. In 2019, Dr. Zhu began collaborating with private psychiatrists in Central Hong Kong to provide patients with personalized and precise TMS treatment programs.
